Measurement of plasma free metanephrine and free normetanephrine levels is used as an adjunctive aid in the diagnosis of pheochromocytoma and abdominal paraganglioma.
Pheochromocytoma is a disease associated with a wide variety of clinical symptoms, including hypertension, palpitations, tachycardia, chest pain, headache, facial pallor, and anxiety.
