IntroductionThis product is an in vitro diagnostic reagent intended for measuring serum gastrin levels by RIA (Radioimmunoassay).
Gastrin is one of the gastrointestinal hormones and is a gastric acid–stimulating hormone secreted mainly by G cells located in the gastric antrum and duodenal mucosa.
Measurement of serum gastrin levels is used as an adjunctive aid in the diagnosis of gastrinoma, a gastrin-producing tumor.
